Notes: This campaign was a turbulent one for the Rossoneri, manager Gennaro Gattuso and sporting director Leonardo both resigned on the same day and the club was excluded from the UEFA Europa League due to financial fair play troubles. Paulo Maldini was signed as technical director and began by signing Marco Giampaolo as the new first team coach; Giampaolo's stint lasted all of 3 months after a bad run of form saw him replaced by Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri finished outside of the Champions League places despite going on a 12 game unbeaten run to the end of the season. However they did reach the semi finals of the Coppa Italia only falling short to Juventus on away goals
